Continuous research and development ensures that Franklins products remain the best that are available on the market today - not just in their appearance, but also in security, energy efficiency and longevity.
Through working closely with English Heritage, Franklins developed the Heritage Casement™ window which provides all the advantages of modern PVCu windows whilst retaining the original flush fitting design of those from past eras.
Standard Sliding Sash Windows
Sash windows were used extensively in this country between 1700 and 1900. This imposing architectural design added character and grace to both large and smaller properties alike.
These windows can now be reproduced in PVCu to ensure the original character of the building is maintained.
Attention to detail is maintained, even down to the profile of the Georgian-style glazing bar.
Wooden Sliding Sash Windows
To ensure years of lasting service, all timber used in the construction of wooden sliding sash windows is treated with preservative by double vacuum pressure impregnation in compliance with NHBC regulations.
All timber is sprayed with a high build microporous paint and can be supplied in various forms to your choice. This can range from one coat primer through to a three coat full finish.
Timber and Aluminium Windows
Timber and aluminium windows are very easy to maintain and yet stunningly beautiful. You get the benefit of tough, low-maintenance alumnium on the outside, polyester powder-coated and painted to match, with the warmth and tactile heart of your choice of timber on the inside.
Heritage Sliding Sash Windows
Heritage Sliding SashT windows are produced from PVC-u in such a way that the original features of the property are maintained, whilst meeting today's demands for insulation, security and low maintenance.
These windows operate in a similar way to the original sash windows, but utilise springs and counter-weights rather than the original sash cords and weights.
In areas where councils insist on wooden frames, or for Grade II listed buildings, a full range of timber frames is available. Sliding sash windows are produced in the original style, incorporating traditional sash cords and weights. The timber is treated with a unique three coat spray finish, giving up to seven years recoating interval and double vacuumed, preserved, giving a 30 year life expectancy.
Traditional Shaped PVCu Windows
Using modern manufacturing techniques, windows can be produced to virtually any design: arched, pointed, rounded or the more conventional rectangular or square.
