Royal Yacht Squadron

Franklins were commissioned to replace a number of existing windows for the Cowes Castle , Isle of Wight.

Home of the famous Royal Yacht Squadron, the castle dominates Cowes harbour where the polished brass cannons that came from William IVs yacht, Royal Adelaide, are still used to start the greatest yacht races in the world.

Franklin Windows range of timber windows is designed to replicate traditional sight lines and in doing so satisfied the requirements of the Environmental Services. " We have recommended that installers Franklin Windows carry out the work to the final phase to the same high standards and using the same materials throughout," says Ian Smith Conservation Officer. " I can recommend both the quality of the windows and particularly the action of their sliding components as well as the quality of the installation programme."
